I was talking to a friend of mine tonight , and because of our unseasonably warm winter weather that we've had in Eastern Pennsylvania as of late the topic of "Global Warming" came up . He brought up a fairly valid point that I hadn't considered before . This mysterious climate altering phenomenon is supposedly caused by the holes that are forming in the ozone layer . The ozone layer is this invisible undetectable shield that protects us from cosmic rays and other intergalactic nastiness . Okay . If the shield is invisible , how did you see the damn hole in it ? How do you know that there was ever a ozone layer there in the first place ? How do you know that the imaginary hole in the imaginary layer isn't a good thing ? Hey , if the polar ice caps melt EVERYBODY will have beachfront property . Real estate values will skyrocket . The whole planet will look like Venice and we could all float to work in bumper boats . It would be freakin' AWSOME!!!!
Next topic . Ghosts . Ghosts are supposed to be the disembodied life energy of a human being who passed away for whatever reason . Their soul , if you will . So I brought up to my friend How come you always hear about people seeing the ghost of great Aunt Fran or Abraham Lincoln or whatnot , but you never hear people talk about the ghost of their childhood dog Sparky . Animals are living creatures too . Why no animal ghosts ? He explained to me that it was because animals didn't have souls . I asked "Who said that ? " . He replied "It's in the Bible . " I then countered with the argument that the Bible also said that a guy divided an entire ocean right down the middle with a stick and ANOTHER guy loaded two of every single kind of animal species on the planet onto a boat which he and his family then sailed around in for a month or so until the waterworks shut off . I guess THOSE are pretty believable stories so the idea that animals have no souls MUST be true . Maybe the people writing the Bible just ran out of ink or paper or maybe , I don't know , just got bored , so they omitted the book about Jesus' dog Scraps who rose from the dead to join his master . The long lost Book Of Scraps ..."and Scraps came unto the masses and said unto them "Woof" , and it was so . The world then kneweth that animals didst haveth souls-eth . "
I have such enlightening conversations with my friends .

The funny thing about the Ramones is that they will piss in your beer when you're not looking. That is what they did. To EVERYONE. Funny, ha? Yeah, so RIP CBGB's. I heard they are removing the inner walls and putting them back up somewhere else. I think it's time to let it die, but no one seems to agree with me--as usual...
