2006 has been nonstop. I was incredibly busy installing two art shows. One for the Traveling Erotic Art Show - which featured works of mine as well as Dave Naz, Lochai, Midori, Julie Simone,Barbara Nitke,Steve Diet Goedde,Chas Ray Krider, and Charles Gatewood. The opening was amazing and we had several hundred people come to the opening which took place at The Center for Sex and Culture. We are installing the show at Good Vibes on Polk this weekend where it will remain for the rest of the month then it will make its way to Seattle, NYC, Miami, and Chicago. Totally excited about it. We are getting a lot of press already. Possible news coverage on KRON this week, interviewing Midori about her installation, and I was asked to write a review for Skin Two on the show.
Midiori's installation at Femina Potens gallery is amazing. You should check it out if you can make your way to the mission before the 19th.
Swamped with preparing 4 different grants for the gallery this month and one huge grant for the city.
I'm trying to stick to my resolution of traveling less, but it is difficult with a traveling art show and all of my work being outside of San Francisco. I'm trying to come up with alternative solutions to traveling all the time so that I can stay in SF and work more on my writing and the gallery. I still want to travel every once in awhile, just not every month.
I'll be back in Seattle for a few days the begining of Feb for the art show, then back to SF on the 3rd for an FP opening, then off to LA and NYC and LA in March,April Chicago, and May - London,Amsterdam, and Paris.
So I need to work on the traveling less thing. I need a full week of organizing my house, my life, my gallery and then another full week to relax and take care of myself.
I talked to Gauge/Heather two days ago. I don't really care to do that again.
