I've just finished reading Tad Williams' "Otherland" tetralogy. Wow. What a monster: 3920 pages. I took me some time - but it's definitely the best work of SciFi I have read for ages.
"Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair..."
Did I ever say I was going to become a writer? Gods, I should think twice about that. I never even get to finish the short-stories I have in my head. Hah, most don't ever get started in the first place. A thing like that would take me several lifetimes. My hat is off to you, Tad!
On his website he says: "Ambition is like Tinkerbell - when you stop believing, it dies." Yeah.
So, just hold on to that dream! And remember, Tim, to be a writer is *to write*. So write! Otherwise it'll just become a bad joke. Writer's block be damned!
Tim

Anyway, thanks for the compliment.
