Hey, back on. I've got a new job working as an "Independent Living Counselor" for Volunteers of America. I help recently homeless get hooked up with social services and get where they want to go. I think I'll like it. I'm pretty good at what I do, and there are good people I work with, plus some around my age, which is nice. Just a lot of driving is all. The 2 main "transitional apartment" are near where I live, but the main office is all the way the hell down in Ybor City. Egh, but I get repaid for my gas. Tis nice. Plus a salary bump and more bennies. I likie.
I'm also doing guest services at the Forum. Which kicks ass, but I'm sad to see the Cure post-poning. Even though they're just not the same anymore. But hockey season is coming up, should be fun.
I'm volunteering more. I'm doing the Red Cross Shelter Ops again, and I'm doing Habitat on Saturdays, which is friggin awesome. Doing stuff I've never done before, mostly because I've never lived in a house and never needed to do any home-building projects.
My car is giving me problems lately. I just beat the manual sun roof into submission in the dark of night and under the bite of mosquito. I need to get the freon recharged, new brake roaters, some new suspension work, battery and a few filters. All in all about a grand so I'm figuring I need to prioritize and not put too much money into my junk car. I dunno how long it'll live.
Well, gotta sleep now. I want to play Oblivion. Anybody else get addicted to this game? And know of any 12-step programs for it?
