What I did today:
I went grocery shopping. The first item I decided to get were bananas. I get a bag for them and put a bunch inside. I watch as the bunch fall out the other end. What the hell? Some middle aged guy had a chuckle with me about it. So I picked up the bunch and put them back.
I also picked up some stuff to make a salad. There was this pot luck picnic that I was suppose to go to with other member here on SG. I never make salads. I am a ramen noodle kind of dude. I get some strawberries and spinach and find a raspberry vinaigrette. It would be a lovely dish.
I get home and find that I don't have a bowl big enough for the supplies I got. I also noticed that I didn't have any tongs to scoop the salad out of the bowl, and some sunscreen would be awesome. So off I go again to get more stuffs.
I get home and make the salad. I have never done anything like this before. I wash the spinach and strawberries. I chop up the strawberries. I start mixing the spinach and strawberries together. I decide to leave the vinaigrette on the side as people can choose to add it or not.
I putter around the internet for the rest of the afternoon.... you guys on the silliness boards saw my handy work.
So, I get to the meeting place where I think we are suppose to meet for this picnic. There is no one else there that I recognized, plus I didn't have glasses on so it wasn't going to help much, plus I have never met a lot of the people who claimed to be going. There I stood for about 10 minutes with my salad and blanket. I got tired so I decided to go take a seat, still watching to see if anyone with some food would show up.
After about 45 minutes of waiting and not seeing anyone, a guy with a guitar on his back comes up to me. He looks at me, I look at him. Is this guy someone I was suppose to meet. He asks, "Is that a salad?" I say "Yeah." He asks, "Why do you have a salad?" I tell him that I was suppose to meet some people here for a picnic. He gives the sympathy, "Oh no." He then says that he first thought my salad bowl was an aquarium. I kind of laughed. As he walks away he offers for me to use his phone. I said that I already had a phone on me and thanked him. Even if I did not have my phone, I wouldn't even know who to call on his as I didn't have anyone's number.
I come to two conclusions as what happened: I was in the wrong location or everyone passed me by. If it was the former, I think it would have been handy to have someone's phone number just so I could find the right place and know that the picnic was still on. If it was the latter, I don't know what to say.
In the end, I am kind of tiffed about the day. I put some time, energy and money into something and got very little out of it. Well, except the guy who stopped to talk to me. I think that guy made the day not so bad. I don't blame anyone, I hardy knew any of the people coming and they didn't know me. I don't expect them to care if I was there or not, nor would I expect them to recognize me. It is the story of my life, either I am in the wrong place at the wrong time, or people don't see anything special about me and over look me.
Now, what am I going to do with all this salad?
I also bought a new iPod for a father's day/anniversary/belated mother's day gift. Nothing really special to note, just something else I did today.
Have a great day readers!

I think I walked by you, but wasn't sure, and was hoping my shirt would tip you off. Sorry I didn't speak up, I'm a little shy.
