I really just wanted to know what was playing. I wanted to get out of the house that weekend, even if it was on my own. I could go over to the theatre after I am finished at work.

It was actually an old 19th century building in very poor repair. The fault didn't lie with the engineers necessarily, who are a century dead, but with the management who didn't keep up the building. "Normal wear and tear" my ass.
