I can't believe my reaction to michael jackson's death. clearly, we all have things going on in our lives that make it rough and. well, that make it life, but this came out of the blue.
i don't care how alternative anyone claims to be, he had an effect on all of our lives. since i was born, 1984, its weird, my profile says 86, i need to change that, but anyway, ever since i was born he was like my first exposure to pop culture. i think a mike video was actually playing in the delivery room when i was being born. lol. but seriously, any artist, pop, r n b, rap, indie, electro, hip hop etc will say that he has been one of their influences.
i was a dancer growing up, like hard core, 32 hours a of dance classes a week, and we had entire classes devoted to his style. i spent countlesss hours dancing to his music.
its just weird to see the end of an era. in a sense i'm happpy for him cause he is finally done with the mess that has been his life and the media frenzy that he has been plagued with, but its just strange to think that for most of our entire lives at least once every month or two we have seen something about him, whether it be in magazines or news or when we log on on yahoo, or whatever. now we will never hear anything from him again. just strange. i guess i don't deal with death very well.
i just think no matter what, we have to appreciate the joy he brought to so many and the amazing influence he made on life in america, in the world, and music, no matter how hard core you clame to be. RIP michael, and i've never meant that quite as much as i do now. i hope you know what you brought to so many people

You know if I had that power, I would zap you some food. Ha. What's the new word? Any restaurant jobs yet?

Even when it wasn't cool to like him, everyone still did. They just wouldn't admit it.
