So I called Blizzard Entertainment back today. I sent them my resume not too long ago. I was applying for an opening in their cinematic FX team (if you've played any of their games you'd know how awesome their cinematic sequences are), or possibly a render watcher position. One thing's for sure is that my focus is regained. It's not in the bag yet, but the email he sent after we spoke was encouraging saying, "It was great speaking with you today on the phone." So now all he needs to see is my demo reel. One thing's for sure is that it's dated, so here's a question. Would it be wise to send the note saying that "My lack of new work being produced while I was employed at my previous job was for the reason that it was unclear to me what my focus was and if it's even where I wanted my career to be. With new resolve I would plunge in head first at your company." Or something like that? Or should I leave that unsaid, and go buy every tutorial book I can after the first day and plunge in? Either way, this could be a great developement. Hires are based about 60% off of personality, and I think I won that arena. If I can convince them that they will get a great use out of me being on the team, I think I can nail the job.
Wish me luck!

Good luck.
I say just leave that part out, but that's just me :p
