For all of you who don't know, my grandpap has been in the hospital for over a week. It started last Monday when my mom took him to his family doctor because of grandpap having blood in his urine. They rushed him to the emergency room. Grandpap got admitted that night, and he's been there ever since.
The final diagnosis is that his prostate cancer has developed so far that it has moved into his bones (which is pretty much fatal) and he has a tumor in his bladder from the cancer.
They had to give grandpap two pints of blood from all of the blood loss. So please if you read this, donate blood whenever you can. I found out that my grandpap has the same blood type as me.
But the family doctor is discharging him this weekend. We're looking into different personal care homes to place him in. The one mom's looking at is Greensburg Personal Care. That would be good because it will only be about 15 minutes away from my grandma.
Grandma wants him to come home, but it's unrealistic. My grandmother is starting to become senile. She can't even remember what she ate the previous day.
Grandpap's MedicAde will pay 100% for the first 20 days. Then days 21 through 100 will be payed for all but $109.50, but insurance will cover the rest. That's $109.50 per DAY.
Mom talked to grandpap's family doctor this morning and he pretty much said that it's just a matter of months before grandpap dies.
His cancer is just spreading too quickly to be contained. He had a scan last month and nothing showed up and he had a follow-up last Wednesday and thats when they discovered that the cancer has spread.
So for all of those who do so, please pray for the well-being of my family. It's been very stressful.
My uncle Leonard is coming home from Florida this Saturday for a week. He's going to add alot more stress. He's very immature.
Benny Boo has been wonderful to me through all of this. He knows what it's like to have a sick family member and also knows what it's like to put a grandparent in a Care Home.
Thank you Benny. And thank you to everyone else who has been supportive.
