So, it's after class, and I'm trying to decide on the best tact to ask her to lunch. I had considered every possible way this could work out, from brutal rejection to heartfelt acceptance and everything in between. Everything, of course, but what actually happened.

"So, what are you doing for Thanksgiving?" she asked. "PBJ and soup most likely," which was a true enough answer. "Oh, want to come to my mom's house and have it with us?" I stammered out an assent, then, "Speaking of Thanksgiving, I'm famished, how about lunch?"

And so we had lunch at a little Mediterranean joint she selected, and it was good. She's cute in an unusual way (even for here, but nothing like an SG), bright, and probably the sweetest person I've ever met without being saccharine or spineless. On the downside, she's young. Not as young as she looks, but almost certainly below my usual floor (which is 25). While people guess young with me, I'm clearly in my 30s.

So, here's the pressing question: Did she invite me for TG with her family because she likes me or because she took pity on my PBJ eating self? Because she's a sweet girl, the sort of girl who would invite a friendly classmate to dinner so that he wouldn't eat alone on TG.

I'm too old for these guessing games, heh, but damn, she's unusually appealing to me. We'll just wait and see what happens...
