I read and translate Latin. Currently I am translating Erotic Latin Poetry from the 1st century BC. here is one
Catullus Poem 16
This poem is pretty raunchy and actually conveys more foulness in the actual latin than is translatable into English.
My English Translation
I will fuck you unnaturally and I will burst you into pieces
Aurelius, the passive faggot
And Furius, the shameless Sodomite
Who thought you knew me to not be decent enough from my verses,
Because they are naughty.
For the godly poet ought himself to be chaste
But there is no necessity for his verses to be so
which, in short then, have wit and good taste
even if theyre naughty, and not decent enough,
and they are able to incite to lust,
I dont speak to boys, but to hairy ones
who cant move their stiff loins.
You, who read all these thousand kisses,
you think Im less of a man?
I will fuck you unnaturally and I will burst you into pieces
Original Latin
Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo,
Aureli pathice et cinaede Furi,
qui me ex versiculis meis putastis,
quod sunt molliculi, parum pudicum.
Nam castum esse decet pium poetam
ipsum, versiculos nihil necesse est;
qui tum denique habent salem ac leporem,
si sunt molliculi ac parum pudici,
et quod pruriat incitare possunt,
non dico pueris, sed his pilosis
qui duros nequeunt movere lumbos.
Vos, quod milia multa basiorum
legistis, male me marem putatis?
Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo.
