Sooooo
The first draft is finished and my masters are pleased!!!
I fell behind in the second act and had to throw the third together in about three days. At the time I thought it was absolute crap, but have since been told otherwise. I guess theres something to be said for working with a gun pointed at your head; no time for second guessing.
Now if theyd just send me that last check.
At any rate, with that extra weight off my shoulders, it was a genuinely relaxing weekend.
We finally got to see Corpse Bride, which I loved. Ill have to let some time pass and reflect further, but I think I may have even liked it more than Nightmare certainly more than James and the Giant Peach. P.E. thought it was just OK, but we all know shes a loon.
Ill grant that Nightmare has a better score with more memorable songs, but I loved Corpses story a real throwback.
That night we had dinner with her family and then did a bit o drinkin with her brother at his favorite dive bar. Good times.
P.E. was sick, so we spent most of Sunday curled up on her couch and watched The Last Dragon AGAIN! She likes that movie waaaay too much. Then it was A Dirty Shame followed by Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
I guess we were feeling dirty.
Later on P.E.s saintly sis made us dinner! Homemade food! Without wrappers, even! The only time I get to eat real food is when Im crashing at their place. Cooking is something I just dont do. I explained it to my Mom (who is an unbelievable chef): I think of cooking as an art. I already write, paint occasionally, and have even acted. Thats enough of a repertoire. Ill leave the cooking to others.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and I now find myself back at work after enduring a two hour drive back from P.E.s neck of the woods. Ive said it once and youll have to forgive me as I write it again: Can we PLEASE accept the fact that the carpool lane, while good in theory, does not work in the real world??? All it is is a perfectly good lane that sits virtually unused!
Anyway, I best get to work. Big Brother is watching.
Be good.

stuzzy:
I must agree with you on the carpool lane. Waste of a perfectly good lane. I mean if they are going to devote a whole lane to the idea of lightening traffic, why not just put a light rail system in that lane?
