You gotta love office holiday gift-giving. Here I sit with thirty dollars in Starbucks gift cards, two bottles of wine and a little thing of Baileys! Yep, I’m gonna go home and get real drunk and wired off my ass!
…Well I would were I not already dealing with the mother of all hangovers.
Ya see, me and the mates made an impromptu outing to see Queens of the Stone Age at the Wiltern last night! (I love living with a ticket broker!) We planted ourselves right in front of the bar and proceeded to drink ourselves silly as we rocked out to the sweet melodic goodness.
We stumbled back to the apartment around midnight and ordered pizza… Normally that’s a dangerous move at such a late hour, but it probably saved me from an even worse headache. And I discovered a new pizza joy: Jalapeno, pepperoni and pineapple. We dubbed it “The George Takei.”
…Yes, we have names for our favorite pizzas. And I’m happy to report that our referring to a jalapeno and pepperoni pizza as “The Elton John” is catching on. I encourage you to encourage your friends and family to adopt this nomenclature as well.
So, anybody see that King Kong movie???
I friggin’ loved it. Definitely one of the (if not THE) most impressive animated character ever put on screen. The fact that Kong was able to portray a full emotional arch without him feeling overly anthropomorphous really blew me away. He was genuinely believable as both an animal and a character.
And I’ll admit… I got a wee bit misty at the end.
I’m really not excited about having to brave LAX on Friday. When is someone finally going to invent a workable transporter??? It’s really about time. I’m willing to risk scrambled molecules if it’ll save me from having to deal with holiday airport madness.
Oh, and I don’t remember if I mentioned this previously, but I had to sit PERHAPSEVIL down to watch A Christmas Story. Can you believe that she’d never seen it???
I mean, they play it twenty-four hours straight on TNT on Christmas day, for cryin’ out loud! And I dare say that it’s probably the best Christmas movie ever. There are Miracle on 34th Street people and there are It’s a Wonderful Life people, but everyone is a Christmas Story person.
Anyway, if I don’t get back before, have a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Super Solstice, Krazy Kwanza and a Luscious Life Day!
