Today on the train, this woman with a huge smile on her face got on at 14th Street. When she sat down, she bumped the man sitting next to her and she apologized, smiling really big. Then she offered to switch seats so a couple could sit next to each other, still smiling. She smiled all the way to Times Square and got off the train and the first thing I thought was, "I wonder what's wrong with her." Then I felt horrible for thinking such a mean thought. Sometimes I think this city is turning me into a monster.
My tattoo artist laughed when I brought in the drawing I wanted him to do. He said if I was a walk-in he would have turned me away. I think he said it was "torturous." Aren't you all wondering what it was now? I'm not going to tell. He kept calling me kid. "Ready, kid?" "Doing okay kid?" I'm convinced the older I get, the younger I look. It's crazy.
