Have you ever thought you've known someone for so long that you think you know everything about them? You think you can predict everything they are going to say or do, and you do all that time, without even trying. Then they tell you about one thing, and it sends that notion crashing to the ground. That happened to me tonight. I was talking to my dad about him retiring, and he told me about when he was in Vietnam. My Dad never talks about when he was in the service. He told me he wants to sit down with me and tell me about it now that I am older, and he can tell I am ready to hear about it. It's weird, that one thing he told me made me realize there is so much I don't know about him, and it kind of makes me sad, but I'm excited that he confided what he told me in me, because no body else knows. Sigh.
