WORD OF THE DAY: (I thought this was, unfortunately, apropos in regards to the day
) But, it is a good word, with amazing history
harmartia n: a tragic flaw
"Paradoxically, Owen's greatness--his insistence on always doing the right thing--proves to be his hamartia."--RAYYAN AL-SHAWAK, THE TENNESSEAN, FEBRUARY 18, 2007
"Harmartia" arose from the Greek verb hamartanein, meaning "to miss the mark" or "to err." Aristotle introduced the term in the Poetics to describe the error of judgment that ultimately brings about the tragic hero's downfall. Most often found in literary criticism, "harmartia" is occasionally employed by news writers when discussing the unexplainable misfortune or missteps of ubercelebrities regarded as immortal gods and goddesses before being felled by their own shortcomings.
POEM OF THE DAY: again, rather appropriate....or somewhat any way *{pay attention to this one--it is truly one of the best poems ever written}* [esp.the last 2 LINES
] )...Charles Bukowski has a poem for everything
the tragedy of the leaves
I awakened to dryness and the ferns were dead,
the potted plants yellow as corn;
my woman was gone
and the empty bottles like bled corpses
surrounded me with their uselessness;
the sun was still good, though,
and my landlady's noted cracked in fine and
undemanding yellowness; what was needed now
was a good comedian, ancient style, a jester
with jokes upon absurd pain; pain is absurd
because it exists, nothing more;
I shaved carefully with an old razor
the man who had once been young and
said to have genius; but
that's the tragedy of the leaves,
the dead ferns, the dead plants;
and I walked into a dark hall
where the landlady stood
execrating and final,
sending me to hell,
waving her fat, sweaty arms
and screaming
screaming for rent
because the world had failed us
both.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Oi...it's been a rough day, we just had 1/2 of our money taken by a creditor and we don't know if there is anything we can do about it...thank god i am probably getting this job and Art still has unemployment and tattoo money coming in, or we'd be fucking homeless.
I feel so stupid and helpless...before coming home I bought him flowers and spent a pretty penny on this sign, to tell him how much I love him and support his desire to create a usable and professional tattooing space in our basement.

Now I feel like a dick for spending the money on that stuff AND the crystals/audio workbooks earlier.
It just seems that we cannot have a day go by without something going awry.
But, ces't la vie, yes?
I'll just keep on telling myself that

Until the morrow SG

That sucks so bad about them taking the money. I hope things get better soon.

Remember the tale of the woman who sold her air and the man who sold his tools? If you don't, it doesn't matter, because from the way you blog, you both love each other. And lets be real here, that is all that matters. We (the readers) are always inundated by stories on the net of celebrities who fall and fail at love and marriage. You did something because you love someone. Never punish yourself for being true to that love. We guys thrive on it. You (the love) are our strength. Shhhhhhh. I just told you a man secret.
