So today I met John Tempesta.
Yes. THE John Tempesta, drummer for White Zombie, Rob Zombie, Anthrax, Testament and now the Cult. (Not in that order).
He was doing a drum clinic of sorts in Sam Ash, and dude, I was so there.
He was warming up when I got there. I basically watched him drum for about an hour, tweaking the audio just so, and making sure he got things right.
Can I reiterate? He was playing for about 20 people. He was doing a clinic involving Zildjian, ZOOM, Remo, TAMA, etc. and basically was putting a damn good amount of time and effort into making sure it was a show, and went smoothly.
A class act.
Shook hands, took pics (soon to be posted) and took pics for others with their camera.
In short, an awesome evening.
I will simply say this - the man pounds the EVER loving SHIT out of his drums. If you're looking for rugged stuff, Zildjians and TAMA appear to be sturdy enough to take the kind of solos that ate at least four sticks.
