I decided faxing my resume to the EMS services all over the province (which is the commonly accepted way to do it) is not working.
They probably get 5-10 a day- so none stand out. I DROVE almost 700kms (400 miles) to drop off a resume and meet the managers of four different services (was gonna do 6, but took too long).
That was yesterday, and today I got a call for a casual position at one of the places I went!! holy shit on a stick!!
That is better than any offer I have had in 8 months.
I don't want to get too excited yet, it is only one shift, but it is better than nothing (I always try to look at things in an optimistic light) and its getting my foot in the door.
So I am crossing my fingers that I get in with the service and pick up a decent amount of shifts....or that another of the services calls as well and I can gather almost full time hours between 1-3 services.
Wish me luck!!!
I am going to go out to a few more services when I get back from my current shitty job.
