So yes, Wondercon weekend...seems like an age ago but it was Feb 27 - March 1 and it was wayyy too fabulous! Sooo many costumes, artists, comic books, graphic novels, celebs and much, much more! You know that Barry bloke from Star Trek? He was there. So was the mom from Little House on the Prairie. And some cool rocker dudes, and... OK, don't make me use my brain.
I got to meet the sweet, sultry Bowie, whose owl chest piece inspired me to book an appt. with her tattooist, as well as the sassy, spirited Gypsy, who dressed her hotass self so supercute.
I made the acquaintance of Ridley, who has a great bone structure and the best hair in town, scorchers Mika and Siouxsie (who kindly offered me a ride but I was too much of a wuss to get there early and reconcile my eyes with the sun), Xtine, who was probably just drawn that way, the hot and hospitable Jaylin, our sexy "Con mom" Bob, and the radiant Annika -- and when I say Bob and Annika, I mean Bob AND Annika! You'll know why when you scroll down to the book signing.
me (profile) and Mika!
Saturday was the biggest day of the Con. Saint, Roach and Quinne were there with us...we signed dozens, if not hundreds, of books, calendars, polaroids, posters and decks of cards at our booth:
I'm in love with Xtine's costume.
My getups were pretty awesome, too, if I do say so, myself. (You know...like I just did? )
I was in the red outfit on Friday and a purple Heatherette dress with a knit Medusa hat and spiky Mad Max platform mary janes on Saturday. Sounds a right mess but it was fierce, so I was "smilin' with my eyes" for loads of pictures, despite all evidence.
I wasn't there in the mornings and on Sunday but you can see from the pics (here and on flickr.com) that Taye, Cate, Posh, Fluff and several others came out.
Btw, I hope I'm not leaving out too many names; there are so many Bay Area SG's, not to mention the ones who flew here, like Gypsy from Seattle.
I know Rockezi, Boomie, Kiari, Smurf and Rambo were on the schedule, but life happens, as it did to our darlin' Q, who remained regrettably absent due to an emergency.
I had a hard-to-book appt with Bowie's tattoo artist, Shannon Archuleta, on Sunday but made sure to meet the grrls for dinner.
RexArenn, who had entertained us all weekend at the Con joined us there.
Gypsy's fiery friend Drew, pictured here with the ever adorable Xtine, was truly loved by all!

another hot Drew group shot:
with pretty Annika:
He graciously put up with my free-flowing vaaaagiiiiiiiina monologues all weekend, and even laughed with me (or was that *at* me?)
Send in the scary clowns!!!
I got sketched by a super talented artist at the next booth and a rad girl drew me, too. They are looking for the thumbdrive that the art is on so they can send me the files. They also asked me if I'd be interested in modeling for some other tradeshows.
I'd love to locate some more group shots with me actually IN them. Most of these were taken on Sunday, methinks. But I'll keep checking in with flickr and will add any such images as they come up.
If I posed for a polaroid with/for you, I'd love it if you could scan it and sent it to me.
This is an image of me signing a 'roid, and it's actually a gorgeous photo, but it was still developing so you can barely make us out.
My friend, Luis (who took the pictures below) and I won tickets to preview Watchmen at the Metreon Imax theater on Sat. (the whole movie, not just the first 20 minutes) and Dave Gibbons spoke.
Timmy and the ultrafab Autrix were there, too!
Autrix had had his SG membership spontaneously renewed, as have other expired folks, I would soon find out.
Friday night was the book signing at the 540 Club. The girls absolutely sizzled and the guys there were awesome! The owner bought me Thai food and Bill Schuch, the featured artist asked me if I wanted to pose for him. Wish I had pics of the canvases he showed; they are off the hook, metaphorically speaking.
It was great to meet Saint! She, Jaylin and Bowie were the nicest chicas.
Most people bought the new book (which I'm not in but it's rad, anyway, and I still signed it ) and a few brought the first coffee table book and I autographed my page. One woman was really inspired by my age.
Yes, I could've been the mother of most of the SG's there.
^ But I'm lookin' good!
excuse my dorky "talking face." ^
^ beaming behind Taye and Annika ^ Seriously, who wouldn't?
What'd I tell ya about Annika and Bob, eh?
Our dinner and tea at Samovar was a captivating wind-down experience. I've always fancied the place but it's Bob's fave. And since Bob let me grope her boobs on Saturday, well, Bob can take me wherever Bob wants!
I'm squeezed in there next to the colorful Ridley and across from Bob, looking a bit stiff in my day-glo top, but the reality was quite another beast - I had popped a synthetic opiate at my tattoo session.
You see, I know I'm a badass bitch. I don't need to prove it by "taking the pain."
So again, a thousand thanks to our wonderfully dynamic organizer and all our f(r)iends new and revisited!

Wish they had one over here.
Glad you had a nice time.
Great group of girls you got to meet.
Take care Thora. Hope you're doing well.
