A few things have happened since my last post, including that enigmatic American holiday known as Thanksgiving. Although I do find it important to be mindful of gratitude, and while I did go to my friends' house to shove food in my face, the holiday bugs me in that it unfairly portrays the dynamic between the oppressors/invaders and the natives, glorifying some feast that may not have even happened and ignoring the real issue - a bloody invasion. And all the turkeys slaughtered for the occasion just drive the aversion home.
It must be said that I am beyond thankful for the wonderful, wacky, sweet and supportive friends I've made in my years here. You guys make the serial rejection of my sets worth it.
And right now I'm dealing with some pretty serious shit, such as a friend undergoing chemo (another pet peeve) for her acute myeloid leukemia (that was in remission - and they still pushed the chemo on her) and a whole family drama in the mix. It's her family's drama, not mine, but she is like family to me, so I feel a personal attachment to the drama, and while I would like to go into it in further detail, this may not be the place - and besides, my next book is a sequel to the first, and it would surely take a novel to explain this mess.
Anywho, on to the good stuff:
my holiday CD, Protea, The Osiris Tree. It's dark, it's crazy, and it's up on Ebay. And if you purchased my novella (described in a previous entry) it's 1/2 off if you send me the receipt or thank you note.
