Thanksgiving.
I am very thankful for my friends, and so grateful that Selket is getting better and that I was able to borrow the money I did to get her out of the vet - but wtf is this holiday if not a slap in the face of every Native who walked this land? I mean, does it serve anyone to obscure history and view the massacre through the rosy lenses we all seem to have put on?
On the twisted ankle front, I thought I was nearly healed so I went to my super fast and strenuous Monkey Yoga class. I sure paid for it today. I'd say my stupidity bit me in the ass but it more accurately fucked up my ankle.
Well, whatever you all did today, I hope it was meaningful and drama-free! I went to visit my jungle hybrids in foster care. As you may know I have to give them up because of the whole Selket thing (injured jungle cats before rambunctious ones)! Sunday they are going to their new adoptive home in Lodi. I wanted them to remain local and stay together, and it looks like that's what will be happening! I'll be spending the night with them on Sat. since I have a sitter for Selket. It will hurt so much to see them go but if they're happy it'll be worth any personal turmoil.
