So last night it was raining like mad. Like, it felt like my restaurant was situated behind a waterfall. The street was a river. It even hailed for a bit. In the midst of this, we're all continuing to go about our work, when suddenly, a shrill, loud, high-high-high-pitched blaring starts, accompanied by flashing lights. What could this be? Oh, the fire alarm. Great. So we search for anything that might set it off... walk back into the kitchen, and um, it's raining. In the back of the kitchen. Yay! As far as we could tell, it was fucking up the wiring, It took maybe 10-15 minutes to figure out how to turn off the shrieking, even though it came back on randomly throughout the night, and we never did get the lights to stop flashing.
Also, about an hour into the hardcore raining, Sara ran up to the GM and me and was like, "Um... guys? The salt and pepper is still outside."
Last night was a funny, crazy night.
