So im planing and saving for my next tattoo. Well it's an extension to my Alice in Wonderland tattoo on my bicep. My hope is to have an entire sleeve by the time I graduate.
I figure now would be a good time to explain why the Alice in Wonderland sleeve. I get asked by a lot of people why Alice? Most people see it as more of a feminine tattoo and I honestly can't disagree but that has nothing to do with why I got it.
Theres actually 2 reasons why I got it.
1st- Ever since I was a little kid I've always loved animation. Everything about it. The fact that we can make fantasy and make believe real. Well real enough to see with our eyes. Alice is of course the main character in Lewis Carroll's book. Disney then made it into a part live action, part animation in the '20s and then finally into full length animated film. The film was one of the first I had ever seen so it holds meaning to me.
2nd- This reason isn't as fun as the other one but it has a lot more meaning. I've always had a rough relationship with my mom. We never got along and we still have problems. ( its getting better!) My mom has had a rough life. She has more medical problems than a book and unfortunately that messes with a person. She's bitter sometimes and she gets mad quickly. I can't say I don't get mad or bitter but my mom does it to everyone.
Alice had this amazing ability to overcome anything. She also stayed true to herself. She didn't let people mold her to what they wanted. She was Alice. With having so many problems at home and others I won't go into right now. (maybe another time) I feel like Alice is a reminder to me that I can overcome anything if I stay true to myself. Even the impossible is possible.
Well anyways that's the reason for my Alice tattoo. The next part I plan on getting done is the outline of a tree and cheshire cat. In fact I'm going to be smart about this and just get everything else outlined before I do any more color.
