OK, OK...so I haven't "really" updated in ages. Half of my friends list is no longer even active. An, I haven't left comments for anyone since like 1985. Well, updating my journal & keeping up with my friends here on a regular basis is one of my New Years resolutions...I swear.
The holidays came & went...thankfully I won't have to see Christmas decorations displayed as...

Ha!!!...another Monday & I'm still wondering why '7th Heaven' has been on my television for the past hour & I've yet to change the channel. Sometimes no news is good news, but the latest is that I am again 'single'. Yes, for me...lol.
...off to play the dating game.

1.75 litres of Maker's Mark regurgitated on the streets of Raleigh. Yes, I fell off of...

Indeed, it is Monday again & its been nearly a month since I last updated. Needless to say, I have been quite busy as of late, but I am still among the living.
Things are really chill with my newfound friend, Kasia, however, in my opinion, they're moving a bit too fast. Well, maybe its my apparent fear of commitment...or at least those are the...

it all ends in agony and angst anyways.. why try?

i mean, best of luck...

There's a great deal to be said for taking things slowly. Why do people always assume that a laid-back attitude in relationships equates to commitment-phobia? Whatever will be, will be and I don't see how pushing the issue by rushing things along can be beneficial for either person involved.

That said, I hope all goes well for you both. smile

Monday is upon us yet again you poor burly bastards. The weekend was quaint and as relaxed as a weekend can be.

I spent Sunday on a date of sorts with a sweet young fem from Poland, who now lives in Raleigh. We talked non-stop for about 3.5 hours whilst the both of us waiting for a pause to get the next sentence in. It...

Wow, sounds like you may have found someone to hang on to! How exciting. I can't wait to see how things turn out. Accents are soooooooo sexy indeed. I really hope things turn out well for you. That's how it was with me and Nat, we could just talk non stop and never run out of things to say to eachother. She was so interesting, she IS so interesting.
iseult:
Mmmm, I do like a foreign accent... I once knew a beautiful man from Nigeria and I love that accent to this day. As for embarking on a relationship, I'm doing that very thing too: I'm finding it all bloody daunting though. Best of luck with your Polish girl, the fact that you're on such a similar wavelength sounds really promising. smile

"The thinker dies, but his thoughts are beyond the reach of destruction. Men are mortal, but ideas are immortal."
iseult:
I think that it is only the above that enables us to accept our own mortality. The idea that some part of us can supersede our physical life is infinitely reassuring.

October 22, 1999. R.I.P. Dad.

"And shepards we shall be.
For thee, my Lord, for thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
and teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In nomine Patris, et Filii
et Spiritus Sancti."

"Thicker Than Water"

My family looks out for me like friends
Our story never ends
We've run into the fire
And somehow water comes to save us
There are so few we can depend on
With blood there is an honor
We behave like we don't care
But it's so deep inside

It's more, more than you can see
It's thicker than water
It means more, so much more to me
It's thicker than water...

It runs so thick inside my viens
Through all the heartache and the pain
And everything I've come to be
It's more than you can see

---
this song has always reminded me of you.

PROOF THAT GIRLS ARE EVIL:

First we state that girls require time & money:
girls = time x money

And as we all know "time is money":
time = money

Therefore:
girls = money x money = (money)2

And because "money is the root of all evil":
money = square root (evil)

Therefore:
girls = square root (evil)2

And we are forced to conclude that:...

...off to the state fair. There will be pig races, goat petting pens, a demolition derby, people with crappy-looking India ink tattoos & missing their teeth, funnel cakes, & cotton candy. Details of my Redneck weekend to follow....

Did you say Cotton Candy? *drools*

Sorry, I'm a complete sugar-junkie; in my opinion, the presence of cotton candy (or as we call it on this side of the pond, 'candy-floss') alone would make up for all the other redneck activities... biggrin oink

I was there--I always love it except for the animals. The "world's biggest horse" exhibit, FYI, is a heavily drugged draft horse with an untreated hoof condition--I had to call the SPCA. People suck sometimes frown

Tuesday...a friend & I discovered a new game today! Frisbee golf. We went to a local park & played 2 rounds of 18 holes. This has to be the greatest sport ever invented...i'm going pro.

Just returned from my friend & his wife's home as i was invited for a lovely dinner. Pork?....ugh, I don't eat swine!!
