wow, what a fucking weekend. my old roommate got married this past weekend down in beaufort, SC. we made the trip down on friday morning and just enjoyed the quaint little town. on the way there we stopped by the site where they were having the ceremony.
its the ruins of a church outside of beaufort. this is where it get very cool for me, a little creepy as well, and a little uncomfortable all at the same time. apparently, the church was burnt to the ground leaving just the brick structure seen here by the army of one william tecumsah sherman on his way to atlanta. he also torched the town of beaufort. i am from PA. and wouldn't you know it, the very first man in my family line it the US signed on with the union army at the age of 14 and was a soldier in sherman's army. it was eerie quite possibly walking the same ground my great, great, great grandfather did. i was too excited about such a feeling and told a couple of my friends in attendance, occassionally getting that "yankee go home" look.
either way it made for an absolutely grogeous wedding site. the clouds broke at just the right time and cooled everything off, too.
this was the view from the reception. just very serene.
mmm....wine buzzz. me and my buddy will at the reception.
the trip down and the trip back with all the drinking in between has left me a little less than energetic.
but i am on my way to have a couple of beers with steveneurotic, southernbelle, and hopefully thriftx2horatio. off to the penguin.

I ended up staying uptown for a little bit and then just went home and passed out. Need to get used to going out again, I'm certainly not in my best form.
They always get me on these sites.
