my eyes that is. i am not the best of sleepers to begin with. so, i usually pop a couple of melatonin before i hit the sack. i needed it last night, especially with my grandfather's health issues. i dozed hard right away.
then about 130am a thunderstorm rolled through charlotte. i was wakened by thunder that shook the house. laying there naked in bed, you could feel the electricity in the air. the flash and rumble. night turning to day in my room as the lightning outside filled my room. and then, as quick as it came, it was gone.
just the silence.
i dread the silence. now my mind was switched back on. my grandfather, tax bills, the revolving door that is my love life, house maintenance, my drive in the morning, my roommate's dog freaking out under the bed, my cat wanting to play on top of the bed.
i finally got to sleep around 4am.
the alarm went off at 7am.
tired, i made a cup of coffee, got a shower and hopped in the car. four hours later, i got to atlanta. business meeting at two. wrapped up at 330. back in the car. four hours later i am home. pizza ordered. first glass of merlot down...
