another crazy week or so. started the new job last week. I feel like this will be the first time that I have ever been truly challenged in a "career." if I am successful, it will be VERY good to me. hope and tension at the same time.
at the same time, I finished two skateboards for the let the good times roll show at twenty-two, opening tonight. it is one of the coolest art event of the year here in charlotte. three years ago? like 50 decks adorned the walls. this year? probably closer to 150. an insanely eclectic collection. and the talent level goes from hacks like me to classically trained artists. I am flattered that Rodney Raines (of Ace tattoo and owner of the wine bar gallery) invites me every year. he says because I am part of the community. again... flattered.
on the community part, another charity event has fallen in my lap. the noda 5k is tonight and the charity that was supposed to be the beneficiary backed out. who does that? "nope, don't want your money." fine by me. we'll take it. and the noda brewing company has started to garner national attention, so it is phenomenal exposure for my charity. beards because will do great tonight. I just had to rally a minimum of 25 volunteers to help with the race. the race organizer called me last night and said she was floored that I got over 40 people in just a week. its what we do... ;)
so I am laying here in bed with a little of bubble guts after too many beers and three jameson pickle backs last night, watching Anthony bourdain, playing fetch with my cat, and gearing up for another huge day....
