thank you to all of you that left me birthday wishes over that last couple of days. i am feeling one hundred (because that is the max percentage logically tha tyou can have. contrary to what most athletes believe) percent better as far as the health thing is concerned.
my superb boss gave me a late birthday present. i went to work this morning and was informed that january 31 will be my last day at the office. with five years with the company and over 25 million dollars worth of purchasing experience, i am apparently not the the most valuable of my cohorts. granted, there are two or three members of the procurement department that only have six months in with the company, less experience AND competence, and higher salaries than i do. but i am too nice of guy to my co-workers, save the company too much money, and am too efficient to keep. so there you have it.
my birthday celebration amongst my co-workers this evening turned into a birthday/layoff party. i could give a rat's ass. this is just what i needed to push through the complacency that i was settled into and find something that i truly want to do. at the very least, find something in my field that will pay me market value and appreciate the work i do.
no pity necessary here (unless it will translate into phenomenal sex). can't wait to see some of and meet some more of you folks at the pancake party this weekend!
