MY FARIE BRIDE
Alone, in The wood I wait
Adoring the midnight stars above
I ponder fate, and my lonely heart
When from darkness she comes
I see her glow, glitter raining behind
Floating before me she winks a smile
She places the tiniest kiss upon my head
Turns, with a giggle and dashes into the night
Sight argues the mind to make sense
What could she be, and why choose me?
Alone, again, in the wood I wait
Time of night and place the same
On cue she comes radiant and glowing
Her movements are sharp and fast
But in my admiration I catch her smile
She stops, and floats before me as before
Her beauty unimaginable and flawless it seems
Wings more beautiful that any butterfly I'd seen
Eyes like stars with the softest of green glows
Lips so full, with crimson red of roses
Hair flowing long as her wings make breeze
Locks the darkest of brown glisten black
Ears cute to a point she stood barely a foot
So beautiful was she I hadn't the words
Hers eyes hypnotizing, her smile enchanting
She floats closer and grants another kiss
This time the tiniest of pecks on my lips
She giggles again as she dart away as before
I know that again I will return this way
Racing the day away waiting for midnight again
Alone, once again, in the wood I wait
I steel myself fore I will speak to thee
I will confide that I want to be with she
Again, she comes to me beneath Luna
I waste no time, confess affections of mine
Her glow grows and illuminates us both
And my heart flutters like her wings
My soul sings at her joyous approval
I sit myself down against a old oak
She sits on my shoulder resting her wings
She smiles giving me tiny kisses all night
I say to her, 'How lucky that I must be
To have such a beauty as thee all to me.'
I share to her my delight in out serendipity
My lovely little Bella, my fare farie bride
Smiling wide as she gazes into my eyes
My little 'Serendipity' I say to her again
She glows brightly and flutters strongly
One more kiss and a last wink goodbye
Before morning comes away back into the night
Sun breaks the horizon setting all ablaze
I grin and say, 'Till the night my Serendipity'
Years have past, and a man I now am
And every night she joins me again
Her beauty never changing or aging
But tonight, I dine with friends around
Wine and Brandie and another round
Drunken and young I lose track of time
I stumble to my home, but not alone...
I awake as the sun warms my face
My eyes try to focus as I arise
'What will become of my farie bride?!'
Her whom I laid still lies beside me
'What have I done, what will be the cost?'
Drunken and dumb, carnal whims wicked and wrong
'Oh what have I done. Will she and I still be one?'
Bed clothes and nothing more I bolt away
I run deep into the woods to find her
I reach our refuge, but the suns is still high
I must wait for night and for her to come
I pace and ponder between oak and rock
'What have I done? What will become?'
I eat no meal for the day, I only wait
The relief is cold as the sun starts to retire
Alone, ashamed and asunder in the wood I wait
Moon shining full and high, now is our time
I pace and wait, pace and wait, pace and wait
My love, my farie bride, she does not come
The sun comes and dashes my hope she will
The suns the sign that her chance has past
Yet still, I return hoping to apologize and redeem
'Oh please come back to me!' I scream
But night after night passes, and the night is still
My hope fades as the leaves submit to winter
Still she has not come, and still I return hoping
Seasons come and go, yet still she does no come
'I had forgotten our love for only a moment...
But I will suffer for us the rest of my life.'
I retire my hope, and break my own heart
I kneel to my loneliness and marry another
I have the family she could never have given
Yet at times I still gaze deep into the night
Hoping to see her glow just beyond the trees
Her smile beckoning me to return to my farie bride
I grow old, and lay surround by loved ones
My final moments draw near and I welcome them
As light fades away from the room around me
I feel a so familiar warmth coming over my body
All light fades to black, except for a glow
A golden glow from my memories 'Is it her glow?'
A shadow comes froward out of the light floating
I look hard with heavy heart to make the face
Then, slowly the shadows slip away from her face
It is her, it is my beautiful farie bride return to me!
She stands tall as me as glorious as shes ever been
I try to cry out apologetic words for her to hear
But gently she smiles at me and hushes my harping
She winks at me as I remember she did long ago
She reaches down and takes me softly by the hand
She lifts me as if I were weightless into her arms
I embrace her warmly with all my heart and soul
Closing her eyes she lies her head on my chest
I caress the back of her head as we share our love again
She pulls away, looks into my eyes, and kisses my lips
It's then i realize that we are both floating together
Yet it is not her holding me, but wings of my own!
I look at myself and see that I am now as she!
My skin it glows golden and bright like hers!
My wrinkles worn all away and youth restored!
Suddenly she breaks away, and winks to me
She giggles as she turns, and flutters away
She wishes me to chase her and play our game
I smile and give chase as we dart place to place
Ecstatic, sublime, our love renewed and aflame
We embrace again and as one we fly into the night
To our secret place in the wood, sweet Avalon awaits
Alone, in The wood I wait
Adoring the midnight stars above
I ponder fate, and my lonely heart
