i learned an important lesson yesterday and today. it says something very profound about my peers. three different people that i know personally have approached me and tried to convince me to vote for john kerry. only one of them knew that i would vote badnarik. the others asked if kerry had my vote, and i said no. without any more questioning, you know, whether i was voting bush or even voting at all, they start lashing out at me about how i am essentially a great big poopy asshole for voting for W.
well let me tell you all something: up until 1-2 weeks ago i hated both of the major party candidates, but would have still preferred bush. but, seeing as i hate them both pretty much equally now, i made my choice rationally.
so from episodes like that, and from all this vote or die rock the vote pretend civic responsibility crap here is what i have learned:
as a 21 year old university student, and i supposed to be open-minded, eager, and empathetic. i am supposed to appreciate if not worship others' right to express what they believe. so long as they are not voting for bush, not against anything 'liberal' (dont get me started), etc.
fuck you guys. and thank god this is all over now so youll have to get something legitimate to devote your lives to. because it certainly isnt about being a good example of an informed and responsible citizen.

apparently there is a new southpark episode that i must see on the subject of the election.
the boys have to vote on a new mascot. their choices are 'douche bag' and 'turd sandwich'. so they dont want to vote, of course. illustrates the current situation.
