It was the third of September.
That day I'll always remember, yes I will.
'Cause that was the day that my daddy died.
Yes folks... Today's date got me thinking of this, the Song of the Moment:
Temptations - Papa was a Rolling Stone
The story of a man who finds out the truth about the father he just lost, and how he deals with that newfound knowledge, sung by one of the best vocal groups to ever come of of Motown. Give it a listen.
--------------
So Manager Lady has backed off on her advances considerably... I'm lucky to get a greeting out of her as she passes by anymore. Perhaps she realized how close she was getting to pulling a big corporate no-no, and the consequences associated with it. It's probably for the best, but I feel kind of sad that she backed off so much we can't even be friendly anymore...
This recent heat wave is literally killing me. I'm still going for morning walks, but it's a struggle when it's still 80 degrees and 90% humidity at 5am. But it definitely wakes me up, even though I feel like taking 40 winks by 3pm, thanks in part to my recent decision to give up caffeine as well. Getting old sucks, kiddies!
I realize I've been a real shut-in for the past few months, but that will change in the next few weeks. I'm lining up events to boost myself back into the public eye, a place my friends seem to think I would never return. Any locals reading this should clear your schedules on Sept 25-27 for the Midpoint Music Festival, a rollicking three-night shindig that'll rock your socks off with 200 bands at 16 different venues. Anyone planning on going, shoot me an email and we'll meet up.
And there's always the Opeth show in October! Metal! \m/
