Woo, doc called this morning and said my stress test was normal. It also feels like whatever was wrong with me is starting to dissipate. Oh happy day.
So I guess Metallica wasn't a very large draw in my last Song of the Moment. Looks like I'll have to work harder to get you folks excited about this here music I present to you. So let's pick a pretty popular (well, in its time) one for today's choice. Yes folks, here's today's Song of the Moment:
Foo Fighters - Everlong
Yes, back in the mid-90's, America was still reeling from Kurt Cobain's suicide, but instead of sitting idly by, Dave Grohl pushed on and formed a group that would rival and possibly even surpass Nirvana's popularity. Once they were established as a group to watch out for, they hit us up with this swinging ditty about love and longing in modern times. From the opening murky guitars you have to strain your ears to hear, through the rollicking beat, to Dave's lazy drawl expounding on the merits of being close to the one he loves, this song definitely keeps you hooked. I'm not a big fan of love songs, but if I were this would definitely be in my top 10.
The video itself is another reason I love this song. Dave & "wife" crossing over into each other's dreams that resemble something out of Dog Boy from Liquid Television (that would be the precursor to Adult Swim, for all you youngins out there), back when MTV was still worth watching. Ah, memories...
