So long, long ago, I used to have a little trend on my SG blog called "Song of the Day" where each day I'd post a song from my extensive collection of music that I'd think everyone should hear. I'm thinking of starting that up again, but since I'm a lazy bastard, I believe I'll call it "Song of the Moment" so I don't have to update every day. 
So let's get started with a song that actually is pretty damn new: Metallica - The Day That Never Comes.
Now, before you get all pissy on me, it's been 5 years since St. Anger, and the boys have had plenty of time to forget they ever recorded that piece of shit record. And this track sounds like they're headed back to their old school thrash roots. The beginning is a little slow, the drums still suck ass, but it does pick up near the middle, and the guitar work at the end is simply fantastic. This definitely has gotten me looking forward to the new album next month.
So yeah, on another topic, I've been listening to Bill Hicks a lot lately, and I'm a little intrigued by his descriptions of being on drugs like LSD and hallucinogenic mushrooms. So much so that I'm actually interested in trying them at some point just to have the experience. Now this is a guy that hasn't even smoked pot, let alone done any other type of recreational drug, ever. The closet I've come is the vicodin I took after surgery, which as I recall was pretty damn nice and gave me some really vivid dreams. I just feel that I might have some really interesting experiences, and I'm willing to do it just once, just to see what it's like.
If there's any of you that have had experiences on hallucinogenic drugs that can tell me what it's like, or whether I should or shouldn't try them, please share. I'd love to hear about them.
