What a great weekend me and thelibra had in Philly, Despite the cold we managed to see a lot of cool stuff. On saturday, besides stuffing our faces at Crackel Barrel, We visited Valley Forge where George Washingtion chilled in the winter for 6 months. If you ask me they should of stayed in the Marriot down the street, cheap bastards We then went on a wild ride trying to find our hotel, lets just say after asking for directions twice, calling the hotel and thelibra being right, we found it: ). I never realized that numbers can get higher, then reset when you get to a new town, I just put on my dunce cap and kept driving.
On sunday we headed into Philidelphia and had a great lunch at the Reading Market, which is indoor market place, full of food stands, eateries, reminds me a little of Faniell Hall in Boston. I of course got the best philly cheesesteak ever, From Steak King..If you are ever in Philly, make sure to pay a visit. Just watch out for the guy taking orders he was like the Soup Nazi, If you didn't tell him exactly what you want he got annoyed Then we wandered around downtown Philly, seeing the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Ben Franklins Grave, Bess Ross's House and some other old buildings. If you see a man sitting at desk in the building he is probably real . We learned the hardway Lets just say we thought he was not a person and when we went inside we got a nice surprise .
We ended our trip with a visit to Longwood Gardens , which is located just south of Philadelphia and is an enormus flower garden in the spring and Lucky for us lite up with holiday lights in the winter. It was quite amazing, so much better than seeing the Rockfeller Center Tree, we saw like 50 trees with that many lights. In addition, we also walked through 4.3 acres of Greenhouses seeing indoor displays. It was a great break from the cold, it was a steady 70 degrees inside. It was a wonderful week all because i got to share it with thelibra. Please enjoy the picture below.
Lunch at crackel Barrel: 50 dollars.
Two double A Batteries: 4 dollars.
Citbank Mastercard Thank you Points that earn you a free room : Priceless.
Don't mess with The Libra or she will shoot a Canon Ball at you.
This is from inside one of the greenhouse at Longwood Gardens, It reminds me of a Willy Wonka and the chocoloate factory
An outdoor tree, Does it remind you of something ?
This statue is made out of pure sugar
This was my favorite display, The lights make a nice ring around the tree, it almost looks like half of madonna's cone shaped Bra.
