This next song is about a girl I had a crush on in California but I started to write this song in Lexington, KY. I spent almost a year writing it. It was going in a different direction and I didn't like it so I set it aside. Then I met this girl and she always talked about how she wanted be with a music star ALL DAY LONG. So me not being a music star I really had no shot at going out with her. Although she always seemed to want to flirt with me and then the moment I flirted back she'd walk away. Outside of that she was a really cool girl. So I came across the lyrics again and started to rewrite it. The only thing that stayed was the first verse.
She Says She Loves Stars
Back in California train tracks carry my empty ghosts from girl to girl
But here in Lexington my memories just swril and swril
I'll spend one more nite in this buliding alone and I'm fading away
I've got a problem living this way.
I've crawled the ground that wraps around my engine with so many miles from
anything that matters to me
I have nothing except the memories of a dream but even they don't remain
Everythings chaning but I just stay the same
If you heard me on the radio
Would you change the way you think of me
because sometimes I think of you
Out on the open highway nothing but space between the moon and me
Maybe I could be a star in your eyes today
and the candle flame burned out but I never saw much doubt in your eyes anyways
and you know I have a problem feeling this way.
If you heard me on the radio
Would you change the way you think of me
because sometimes I think of you.
