My wife is looking for a job and she is stressed. She is a University of Washington grad and a damned hard worker.
She ends up getting good jobs but the last 2 companies have gone under. She is the foundation of my life and when she starts to shake, my stability shakes double. I credit my wife with saving my life several years back. When she met me I was in a dark metal band. I was drinking hard, Smoking pot hard and just generally not giving a shit about living or dying.
She was not a groupie at all (she hated the music)but she liked partying with the band as we were fun. I was dating stripper types that liked the long hair, tattoos, and the the fact that this band was opening for bands such as The Accused, Forced Entry, Metal Church. (good gigs considering I was 18 years old.) My future wife cared nothing about that.
I knew I was a good drummer but when she came around I wanted to be a good human being. She gave me more confidence and enabled me to strive for better things. In the long run I am not much different on the outside. I am still a musician, I still have and continue to get tattoos, I still like my hair long (I am growing it back it as we speak.) On the inside though I am a changed person and I owe that to her. Maybe even the fact that I am alive.
