I will never be an AD.
So, these guys have been explaining the whole Directorts Guild Assosiation thing to me, and apparently, in order to get in the DGA, you need either 600 days as a PA, or 400 days as an AD on non-union shoots... Fuck that. Sam showed me all the paperwork he's saved up for his days. The stack weighs more than me, and he's only halfway there... Double-fuck that. This PA shit is all right, but there's no way I'm doing it for two years before I'm union. I'd loose all my hair. Triple-fuck that. But I'm pretending to still be interested, so these guys will still throw work my way.
Tomorrow's our 1 day, off. Then there's 5 more days of shooting. I've got to make some calls tommorow to get work. Our Production Supervisor, Jeff, found out I was an exmedic, so he asked Sam if I had enough 'hands on experience' to be a set medic. Like I'm gonna see something on set that's worse than Iraq. WTF?!?! So now Jeff is going to put me in touch with his friend, who's a set medic. That's two I know of now. Sam's buddy Scott is the medic from the OC. He's going to have lunch with me next week, and explain what a set medic can and can't do. There's a lot of restrictions.
So, Sam is playing a marine on 24 this tuesday, so Adhib our 2nd AD told me I'll be Key Set PA for the day. Which is kind of cool, because our other 2 PA's, and the guy they're bringing in for the day all have more experience than me. But I kick ass, so there... I said it. The only time I have ever compliment myself seems to be when it comes to work. I'm pretty much worthless other than my work ethic. Which is surprising considering what a lazy little shit I was as a kid. Now that I've grown up, I'm unitelligent, quiet, ugly, socialy inept, unfunny, and immoral, yet a work machine. I'm the equivelent of a donkey on meth. Minus the nifty little tail.
Too much to do tomorrow. Fix truck, get a job for a week fro now, do laundry, write, pay bills, etc. One day weekends suck ass.
