Well kids... it's been a very long time since my last update, and in that time I can tell you that I haven't done a DAMN THING!!!
I took off from work early, so I've spent the past few weeks just sitting around my old sublet apartment watching movies and getting over my anxiety problem. It was getting so bad I was having trouble just walking around the block without having a panic attack. Fun shit when you're confined to your house.
So I just stayed inside, and wandered around when I felt like it. I watched a total of 30 or so movies in that 2 week period, so now I feel really good / bad... on the one hand I know that a thorough knowlege of film is good for my future career endeavors, but it's bad that I barely saw the sun for 2 weeks straight.
The place that I sublet was a trip and a half though. The manager was an early 50's, somewhat leacherous old man, who would go on and on with stories of his youth. All in all a very cool dude, but a kind of "creepy cool" that you get when an uncle asks you about your sex life.
On top of that I had to watch out for my next-door neighbor, who I never saw with my own eyes, but heard a multitude of stories about from the other tenants who lived there. Aparently the man was a crack addict who lived with a prostitute/stripper. When I first moved in there were a number of black marks all around the walls of the apartment building's hallways. Those marks, as it turns out, where smoke damage from when the crack addict had set his room on fire... the room right next to mine... so I decided that if anything were to happen I would just grab my guitar and run. Fuck the rest of the shit.. none of that mattered.
So now I'm living with my brother, his wife, and their dog. And everything is getting better.
I'm enrolled in classes for next semester already. I'm taking:
Intro to English Literature
Masterpieces in World Literature
History of Western Civilization
Latin 101
and Kung Fu... because I can.
My new years sucked as I didn't do a damn thing, and christmas was nice as it was just my brother, his wife, and myself... no great big family hoo-ha to get in the way of my drinking.
that's it for me.
I hope you all are doing alright, and I'll catch you all later... my next installment probably won't be till I get back to Alaska, as internet access in LA is kind of hard to find.
Untill then, keep on truckin'!
