I just made the most delicious dinner-- black bean and butternut squash burritos with curry rice and golden raisins. I wish I had the time to cook vegan all the time!
I finally finished my Master's degree-- so hooray for that. However, the job search has started and it's looking pretty dismal. I'm lucky I planned ahead and have some money saved, because it looks like it's going to be a long winter of just barely squeaking by-- thankfully I know how to knit, so that takes care of all my Christmas presents, and we should get some money from people as a wedding present. Everything helps.
In good news, I did get a mini scholarship at the yoga center, so I can continue my classes-- I would have been very sad to give those up! My friend wants to take belly dancing classes, but does not want to go alone, so she asked if I would go if she helped pay for them. I'm pretty excited. There are also a few free yoga classes this week I'm going to take full advantage of-- I still have a gym membership, but I don't know how long I am going to be able to sustain payments for it. Bummer.
Right now I am working on wedding details and soon I will start knitting the Doctor Who scarf for my Dad's birthday. He is going to be so geeked when he sees it! I should also start practicing my violin now that I have free time- it's been collecting dust in the closet for five or so years and since I have a pack of new strings in my case I should not have to spend any money on fixing it up. Free entertainment!
Tonight I am using the last of my free movie pass horde to go see a movie with Steph, fresh home from Colorado, and Dylan- I don't spend enough time with him. A ten year age gap in siblings is a difficult hurdle.
Basically, my goal this fall and winter is to only use my money for groceries, rent, bills, and gas-- and even then I have been biking or walking everywhere possible.
Not much else is going on, other than an orientation for subbing at a preschool down the road. It should help me out a bit to have some cash now and again.
Hope everyone is having a lovely September.
