Ever since waitressing nights at a bar, my tendency towards night owl status has turned into full-out daysleeper. I quit about three months ago (temporarily) but I never seem to be able to get back on the schedule that the rest of the midwest keeps. I just really like being awake at night-- and it's made worse by the ninety degree temperatures during the day. I'm most comfortable in anything fifty degrees or less, and the nights here are just bearable to me. The days are like walking into a solid wall of humidity. My migraines never go away in the summer. It's unpleasant.
My routine for the last few days has been to get up at around 2 in the afternoon and putter about cleaning and organizing and writing my paper, then at around nine at night I work out for two hours and take a shower. Then I go run errands (thank the stars for 24 hour stores and restaurants!!) and usually watch a movie. Tonight's flick is The Reader- if I get around to it. I bought a whole new bookshelf/entertainment center set-up from Ikea and I spent all last night with the fiance putting it together. This left us with a lot of furniture that does not fit anywhere, and space for all of our books and a few more of my knick-knacks.
I'm impatient for our engagement photos to come in. He said it would be about a month, but I was really hoping that it would be a little less. I have so much to do for the wedding,-- I was a space cadet and forgot about programs! Ugh. So that's one more thing on my to-do list, along with the honeymoon, the flowers, the cake, and my dress fittings are coming up really fast. Also, I need to figure out what jewelry the bridesmaids are wearing so I can purchase it, AND I need to schedule trial runs of my make-up and hair. All this while trying to finish my Master's degree and put in another application for graduate school next fall.
Whew. Just reading that over makes me twitch!
Well, I'd better get down to business.
