So if any of you have ever been to Hawaii you will notice that there is a great deal of asian people. Mostly touristss but also in the service industry. Take... nail care for example- all workers seem to be required to be of asian decent and speak mostly their native tongue. Same goes for hair stylists. Since I moved here from Oregon, I have made a point to only get my hair done when I go back to the green state to visit family. Although that plan had been going well, I must forgotten exactly WHY I made the plan to begin with. Little asain ladies CANNOT cute hair for normal people. Other little asain ladies- sure, but not for the well adjustsed, ever trusting local girl.... I suddenly find myself with the same haircut I had in my first year of middle school. THE FUCKING TIFFANY BANGS AND ALL!!! I just sat in the chair and laughed at myself. The poor lady. She just didn't speak english well. So when I said, "no layers. Layers make my hair frizz," and she says again, "okay- just lil bit layer then." What can you do? And after she gave me what were supposed to be side sweeping bangs which turned out to be crooked wave bangs, she asks if I want them shorter. No..... not shorter... longer. I'm not looking to have a Bettie Page cute, just yet.
So- like Alice I sit and ponder... why can't I EVER follow my own advice? It is very good advice, which I seldom follow.
