There's nothing quite as exciting, particularly team sports. They are a perfect demonstration of 'the butterfly effect', where tiny incidents can change the course of events in hugely dramatic ways. It's a very beautiful form of chaos. Every miss and failure to score, every tackle, every move changes the subsequent action irreversibly, like watching rain form cascading rivers down a mountain you can never predict its path.
I love rugby league most of all, and last weekend I watched one of the greatest sporting contests I've ever seen. Now of course I'm biased, but the Super League Grand Final was phenomenal. Such pace, such skill, such drama, and an incredible comeback. Amazing.
In other news I'm applying for a new job. Bit scary, and it's not exactly what I want to do but it's a lot more money and would hopefully only be short term so it's a no-brainer really. And it's at the school I was volunteering at last term. Either way though it's win-win, if I get it then great but I I don't then I don't have to leave my current job which I love to bits. Gangsta.
