You know what I love? I love that commercial with the puppy singing about fea treatments. It is something like "There ain't no bugs on me!" It is sooooo effing cute! I just want to squish that puppy. SQUISH. My grandpa used to tell my that "squish" is not a word. We used to fight about it...seriously.
Speaking of my grandpa, I miss him a lot. I've been thinking about him lately. I think about him most days. He died a few years ago. We were very, very close. We used to go to dinner together and bitch about my grandma. She is a very annoying person (but we love her). Every Friday afternoon, I would run home from school and call him to come pick me up so that I could spend the weekend at their house. I was practically raised by my grandparents, and I ruled their house. He let me do whatever I wanted. He would pick me up, and on the way to his house he would take me to the market for a Slushie and whatever candy I wanted. He used to make me these sandwiches....cream cheese and stawberry jelly on white bread with no crust. He would bring them to me while I was swimming in the pool out back. He would do this thing where he would hug me super tight and ramble in Spanish...he called me "the blue eyed monster." He was so hilarious. He used to drink screwdrivers in the middle of the afternoon. One day, he had a few and he let this woman (who used to come over to do my great Aunt's hair) dye his remaing hair black. His hair was naturally black, but he had gone grey at the temples....anyway, the next day he woke up and realized what he had done. His hair had turned this weird red color..it was hilarious. He cancelled his standing golf game that morning because he was so embarrassed about it. We all made fun of him later. He was a really awesome person. He had great stories about being in WWII and his days as a Sheriff in AZ. He was also a private detective for a few years. Once, during his Sheriff days, he found a potted plant in his backyard (this was back when my Dad was a kid) and he took it into the station to put it on his desk. Someone walked by and saw it and asked him why he had a Marijuana plant on his desk! He had no idead he had found my Uncle's pot plant hidden behind the shed in the backyard. Yeah, I miss him....a lot.
