After a conversation with Neon about how I used to be into comics, I suddenly remembered that I have a comic-based tatoo (Herman Vermin). I now realize what a true nerd I am. I don't read comics anymore, but it's something that stays with you. First appearance of the Kingpin? Amazing Spider-Man #50. The first appearance of the Punisher? ASM #121, and the list goes on.
So I've already gone over to my friend's house and retrieved a bunch of Marvel Masterworks... which takes care of the nostalgia factor. What new stuff should I check out? I lean toward the indie stuff, but I'd love to read a really good super-hero comic... (keep in mind that 60's Marvel is the type of thing I loved most).
