Let the Right One In was, somehow, an even better book than it was a movie. I'm usually a firm believer of books always, always being better than the movies made of them--The Lord of the Rings being the one exception... even though I generally don't have anything against the books. But I was uncertain about this one, mostly because the movie was quite excellent. But the book vs. movie theory was proven, yet again, quite correct!
Book!Oskar and Eli were even more adorable than the movie versions, and I didn't even think that was possible. Not to mention the whole thing with Hakan was not only more tragic, but also more interesting and climactic. Overall awesome and totally absorbing and I loved it. So very much. Hee.
I'm so pleased. It was so wonderful to read a vampire book of that caliber with all of the Twilight junk currently floating around. ...<3

My examples of films being better than the book are usually some combination of The Wizard of Oz, A Clockwork Orange, The Princess Bride, and Bladerunner. Generally speaking, of course, books tend to work out more often than films. Less cooks to spoil the soup, I suppose.
