I am back into the work schedule now, after my AMAZING vacation with Cadence. I left for DC the evening of the 17 and picked her up from the airport in Baltimore. Friday night we went into DC to see the Marines Evening Parade. It was a fantastic parade, and an amazing night. After the parade we ran around DC in our fancy clothes and took pictures at all the big monuments and the Capitol. On saturday we went back into DC for the day wandering and exploring. We found a great little cafe and we had an amazing strawberry shortcake, and a smoothie that I would gladly roadtrip for. We missed the museums, but just walking around the city with her was all I could ask for. We layed in the grass beneath the Washington monument, we kissed on the back of the Lincoln memorial. We paid a special tribute at the reflecting pool even. I can also say that the new WW2 memorial is incredible. It is perfect. The only bad part was the infestation of disrespectful, loud, obnoxious, irreverent people. I wish I could say it was all kids but the adults are just as bad. Sunday we went to the Airshow at Andrews AF base, and I got to show Cadence some of the toys I get to play with in the Marines.
Sunday night we drove back to NC for two nights and we battled our way thru the medical system to get her a new pair of glasses. I got to show her around base and I had a few suprises for her too. Tuesday we drove out to Raleigh and we caught our flight home. We spent a week together at home in RI. It was amazing. It felt like what my life was supposed to be. We went out, we walked Providence, I went to work she went to work, we came home, its was basically a sickeningly amazing picture of domestic America. We did finally upgrade to a queen size bed though. Thanks go out to "Craigslist" for that one.
Everytime I have to leave her it gets harder and harder. It kills me how bad I've fallen for her. We both agree that if we saw anyone else like us, if it was anyone BUT us, we would be disgusted. We know how bad we are. We were both independent, strong willed, tough people... but now we're sappy, love struck lame ass bums, and we love it, ha.
Now I bring it to a close, I am back at work, I was promoted to Sergeant, and I am training my Marines before I come home for good July 2nd. Hopefully Cadence is coming down and driving home with me.
I couldn't ask for to much more in my life, maybe some more money, lower gas prices, but other than that she gives me everything I need.
OK enough sappy bumbling. That's my life at the moment to any passers by.
Sincerely yours,
The Marine
I love my SG, xo
