Howdy Ho SG friends,
As always a big thanks first of all, to those kind souls who left support on the last blog. You're the best and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart! :)
Sorry it's been a while since the last blog, but I haven't really had much worth blogging about.
No news on the situation regarding surgery, still waiting for a consultation in Aberdeen.
Stress levels are pretty high due to my wife's vastly changing moods due to the slow progress in buying our council house. She never seems to notice that her moods make my depression considerably worse, and the fact that I struggle to talk about feelings doesn't help matters.
I was happy with the No vote in the Scottish referendum last week, I voted No because I felt the Yes campaign was highly flawed. It's not that I'm against Scottish independence, but I felt at this current time Scotland wasn't ready for it (there were so many political parties in the Yes campaign and they all wanted different things for Scotland, they couldn't agree on anything and that's no basis for starting a nation on), and it was better to remain part of the UK.
Hopefully in the future Scotland can gain independence, and it will be something we can work on, together.
In other news, my dad phoned yesterday to tell me that one of my uncles is suffering from liver failure and they don't think he has long to live. I know there's nothing I can do for him, but I feel bad for him and at the same time I feel helpless. I'm in Shetland and he's in Alderney, which is thousands of miles away. Given my current pain levels and mental state I wouldn't even be fit to attend his funeral. :(
So I'm feeling that little bit more depressed this week, but I have my second therapy session tomorrow and I'm optimistic about that. I generally struggle to open up to people but somehow I manage to open up to my therapist, which is a relief.
Tomorrow afternoon we're going to the pictures, going to see Pride. For those unaware of it it's a British film set in the 80's about a group of gay and lesbian protesters who join forces with a Welsh community in a bid to save the local mine from closing. The film has received good reviews and it has a great cast which includes Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Paddy Considine and Andrew Scott (Sherlock fans will know him for his awesome portrayal of Moriarty).
So it's not all doom and gloom, and hopefully my therapy session tomorrow will lift my spirits a little.
That's all for now, so I'll close with the usual request for more love for the following lovely ladies in MR:
