Howdy Ho SG friends!
First of all, a big thanks to those kind people who left supportive comments on my last blog. Your support is appreciated more than you know, hugs for everyone! :)
Nothing's improved since the last blog I'm afraid, phoned the doctor on Monday following the message they left me on Friday afternoon. It turns out their wholesaler doesn't stock lidocaine patches any more, so they couldn't order them for me. I was told that I could get a private prescription and buy them from Boots, but they charge £90+ for a pack of 20 lidocaine patches. That's too expensive for me, since I haven't been working for over a year now.
I decided to see if lidocaine cream would be easier to get hold of, since the NHS don't want to prescribe the patches because they cost so much. The doctor ordered cream (the same strength as the patches) for me, and it was on the NHS, which was a bonus. The cream will also give me an idea as to whether the patches would work or not, since they're the same strength. So far I haven't noticed much in the way of pain relief, so it looks like it was a good idea trying the cream first...
In other news, I've been considering applying for benefits since I haven't been working in over a year. The only problem is that they might reject my claim and say that I should get a job. It's a crap benefits system over here, as I saw on TV about a lady with rheumatoid arthritis so bad that she took ages to get going on most days. She was on benefits, but then her benefits were stopped and she was told to find a job. Sadly it seems that our government don't want to provide benefits for people with chronic pain but they're quite happy to give benefits to alcoholics and drug addicts... Sometimes I despair at the state of affairs here!
There has been some good news lately, the other Sherlock t-shirt I had ordered arrived on Tuesday. This one says "Honey you should see me in a crown" on it, Sherlock fans should know what that refers to. :)
More good news: our family will be increasing by another kitten shortly. He's only three weeks old, so we won't get him for a while yet. We've already named him though - Benedict Cumbercat, or Benny for short. Can't wait to introduce Lowrie, Fred and George to their little brother! :)
Nothing else to report now, so I'll close this blog with the usual request for more love for the following lovely ladies in MR. They all deserve a boatload of love and deserve to go pink, and the SGs deserve to make the front page! :)
