Howdy Ho SG friends,
As always, a big thank you first of all to those kind souls who left supportive comments on my last blog, your support is very much appreciated. :)
Unfortunately my situation hasn't improved any since the last blog, if anything, the pain's been getting progressively worse. Didn't get out and about much this past week because I've been too sore. Went to town yesterday, which was the furthest afield I'd been since the previous Friday. The only other time I left the house this week was when I went to the doctor's to collect more tramadol. :(
I did get to speak to the other doctor yesterday (it's a shared practice, and the main doctor is on holiday), as I can't carry on with this pain for much longer. I told him about how the morphine hadn't helped at all, and he agreed it was pointless to increase the dosage. I also told him about the patches I'd asked the other doctor about (I've mentioned them in previous blogs), and he agreed that it was worth giving them a try at least, since painkillers don't seem to help much. The only problem he saw in ordering them was that he couldn't order them through the NHS because they're meant to be used to treat neuralgia (which I don't have), and the claim would be rejected. He did say that he could order them privately though, and I would have to pay for them. I said that was no problem, as at this stage I'm willing to try anything that might help.
He said he'd order the patches and let me know when they arrived (hopefully on Thursday), and I went to town after I'd seen him. When I got home around 7pm there was a message on the answer machine, asking me to phone the doctor's office. Unfortunately they'd been closed for 2 hours when I got that message and they're closed over the weekend, so I'll have to phone on Monday. I'm hoping that it's not bad news about being unable to order the patches, fingers crossed it's something like I need to pay for them before they can order them...
Not much else is new apart from that.
I finished knitting the cardigan on Monday, and my wife is assembling it for me as I don't have a clue how to assemble a cardigan (and it's hard for her to show me how). In the meantime I'm knitting a cowl (or an infinity scarf as some call it) using the same yarn I made the cardigan with as I have lots left over and I'm trying to use it up. :)
Had a laugh watching The World's End again the other day, love that film. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are an awesome double act, love all the films they've made together. :)
One of the Sherlock t-shirts I had ordered from Amazon arrived this afternoon, which was nice. It says "I don't understand" on the front and "I still don't understand" on the back, Sherlock fans should know what that refers to. :)
Lastly, a request for more love for the following lovely ladies in MR. They all deserve a boatload of love! :)
