I thought she was dressed as Storm; turns out, she was dressed as Rogue after Rogue had touched Storm. The sheer depth of understanding needed for such a costume astounded me. I think she really just wanted an excuse to wear her Wild Eyes contacts.
We talked for a bit, I in my fake British accent, she in her real American one. We hit it off, got along, were doing well. She tried to mix a drink: vodka and cranberry juice in a shaker, dropped and spilled. That's when she decided she'd had enough.
Upstairs, I looked for the people I came with for a minute, then sat down to watch the last few minutes of Rocky Horror. It wasn't very interesting, and she found me. She was leaving; to stall, I asked her to marry me, saying that I'd always wanted to marry someone I didn't know, even before Dharma and Greg came out.
Her eyes lit up; she said that's how she'd wanted to do it, too. She said yes, and we swapped e-mail addresses. Perhaps my bride-to-be could have been more forthcoming with a phone number, or a last name, but such lapses can be forgiven easily.
Who knows, maybe she was as serious as I was. Maybe she'll write me back. Maybe we'll live happily ever after.
Maybe.

I just read your comment about adding friends on the boards, and well, it made a lot of sense. So I thought I would stop by and introduce myself properly. I added you to my list because you are a really amazing writer. Your journal has a very interesting, literary feel to it. I was also struck by your 9/28 entry. I have been feeling the same way for the last couple of years. It comes and goes, and when it is gone, it's hard to remember the dead feeling, but anyway, blah, blah, blah . . . Hi!
Just kidding. Now, my contact info is right there in my profile; so keep in touch, won't you?
